You’re more than just a mom

You’re more than just a mom…

Sometimes, as we go through the day to day motions of our lives, we forget that inside each of us is a woman who is (often times) forgotten. We get on our schedules of “eat, work, shuttle the kids, sleep, repeat”, that it can be easy to lose touch with the person we used to be before we started our families. The person who wanted to take adventures, who had interests outside of work, who didn’t think twice about buying that dress for no other reason than it just looked beautiful…where did that woman disappear to? Well, I’m here to tell you that she has not disappeared at all. She’s inside you just waiting to re-emerge. You’ve just grown so accustomed to putting your own desires and needs at the bottom of the to-do list that perhaps you forgot she was still there.

While browsing the web recently, I stumbled upon a great little comic strip by Sandra Bell-Lundy called “Between Friends”. Her characters remind me a lot of myself and other women who’ve come and gone through my life. They are very easy to relate to and I think you’ll find humor in how true her comic strip is when compared to your own life. Here’s a fairly recent strip of hers that nails exactly what I’m talking about:

Let’s all promise each other that we’ll take a few tips from Helen and her decision to be more than just a mom. Put on something that makes you feel sexy, take a little extra time with your makeup, pull your hair out of that ponytail and watch how your feelings about yourself will be uplifted. About Kim Hill

I’m passionate about my work and helping women feel comfortable in front of my lens. I want women to feel confident and sexy regardless of age or size. All women are beautiful and I'm here to help them see the beauty in themselves and the boudoir photographic experience is one step in that direction. I am dedicated to bringing a high-quality experience to the boudoir portrait session. My goal is to offer a fun yet relaxing environment where a woman can let down her guard, allowing that inner sparkle to shine. I’ve been a photographer for more than 25 years now. I started as a young child with my parents' 110 film camera, moved on to study photography in college, interned with a wedding photographer for a couple of years and then struck out on my own. I've been doing general portraits since 1998 and boudoir work since 2009. In addition to boudoir, I also offer high school senior portraits, fashion inspired sessions, and business executive head shots.
