Project 52, Weeks 22 & 23 {Personal Photography Project}

Forgot to post my Project 52 last week so I've got two themes for you today.  Last week's theme was "up close".  This is the turtle that has been visiting our yard daily for almost 2 weeks now.  Hubby keeps turning him around and sending him back to the swamp, but he comes right back the next day.  A good size hole has been dug in the side of the hill where this little guy keeps going…hubby though maybe we'd find turtle eggs there some day soon.  As of today, no eggs.  But that's okay cuz I really don't want the turtle to lay eggs in the side of the hill as it's too easy a spot for our dog to get at.  Those eggs wouldn't stand a chance if they were laid there.  LOL  For those interested in camera settings, I was lying on the ground very close to the turtle and shot this with my Canon 24-70L handheld at 70mm, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/100 at F 5.0.

Now this week's theme is "hidden".  While I was checking in on the baby birds nesting in our burberry bush, their momma came around and kept a watchful eye on things.  She was very brave at first, but then flew up into the birch tree out of my reach.  I only had my 24-70mm lens on, so she is actually a teeny tiny blip on the full size image, so I've cropped it a tad closer so that you can see her better.  :)  For those interested in settings, this was shot from underneath the tree, using my 24-70L, handheld at ISO 640, shutter speed 1/640 at F2.8.  I was previously taking pics of the babies and probably should've lowered the ISO when I swung around to snag this shot of their momma.

About Kim Hill

I’m passionate about my work and helping women feel comfortable in front of my lens. I want women to feel confident and sexy regardless of age or size. All women are beautiful and I'm here to help them see the beauty in themselves and the boudoir photographic experience is one step in that direction. I am dedicated to bringing a high-quality experience to the boudoir portrait session. My goal is to offer a fun yet relaxing environment where a woman can let down her guard, allowing that inner sparkle to shine. I’ve been a photographer for more than 25 years now. I started as a young child with my parents' 110 film camera, moved on to study photography in college, interned with a wedding photographer for a couple of years and then struck out on my own. I've been doing general portraits since 1998 and boudoir work since 2009. In addition to boudoir, I also offer high school senior portraits, fashion inspired sessions, and business executive head shots.
